Just when Steve Fey thought the early season gremlins were behind him and he was also able to welcome back his first choice strike force of Tony Cook and Troy Simpson, both from holiday, he was made to think again as Manor Farm fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at lowly Torrington.
They were given the perfect start when full back Matt Thorne's low right wing cross was side footed into the net by Mark Cherry for his third goal of the season and Farm seemed to be on their way.
The home side weathered Farm's pressure and deservedly equalised when David Heath slotted home a James Kirkland flick on.
The second half could have gone either way, but with Farm lacking that cutting edge in the final third it was Torrington who stole the points with fifteen minutes remaining when Brian Jefferies converted a penalty after full back Lee Marshall had conceded a foul inside the box.
Much to ponder on then for Fey, with champions Bideford the visitors to the Creek on Saturday.
