1st Team
Guildford City Weysiders

Kick Off : 14:00 Meeting Time : 12:45

Godalming & Farncombe Athletic continued their miserable run of results despite a much better performance against the team second in the league.

In a very even first half Bradbury and Newby both had chances to put GFA ahead. The GFA keeper at the other end was in fine form making two excellent stops.

For the third week running GFA fell apart in the second half, a lack of fitness leading to mistakes leading to the opposition finishing their chances clinically.

However there was much to take from the game - Jeffries made an excellent return, Newby showed that with games under his belt he will be a fine addition to the midfield, Fraser had a promising game at full-back and Bradbury had an excellent first half on the left hand side of the pitch.

With more games together a mid-table finish looks entirely possible for the new-look side.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
